Little details that matter

We came to National Bank Financial as one of the original teams about 20 years ago. At that time, we were three partners who shared all the expenses and gradually grew the business over time, developing many business plans for the firm. We’ve worked alongside each other to grow into what is now five offices, almost 30 people, with different leaders and multiple generations of advisors. It’s been a lot of fun, and we’ve helped a lot of people. I’ve been in the industry for over 20 years, but it’s so different from my experience at Fairway because there are multiple advisors and locations now. I’m the portfolio manager at one location, but I do have a team, and our team structure is a bit different. We focus on both portfolio management and administration. There are three of us in portfolio management and four of us in administration, including a co-op student. It’s different, but we are both successful. There are many ways to be successful in this business, and there are many different types of clients. Here, we can work in a way that suits our clients, ourselves, our families, and our communities, and really make a difference. At the end of the day, entrepreneurs and things change, and National Bank gives us the flexibility to adapt. Just because Paul found success with his approach at Fairway doesn’t mean that I have to do it the same way. National Bank lets us do it our way.
