Our story

1984 — The beginning of a bold adventure 

In 1984, Esther Wunderlin entered a profession that was still largely male-dominated. In a field where women were few and far between, this young immigrant, now an investment advisor, arrived with a deep conviction that people could be supported differently: with humanity, rigour and authenticity. It was the beginning of a story that would span more than four decades. Esther became a financial planner in 1998, deepening her expertise and broadening the scope of her support, and later a wealth manager in 2014, gradually building a solid, deeply human team. Since July 2026, Esther has been enjoying a well deserved retirement, focusing on life’s simple pleasures.

2002 — An ally for 21 years 

After working with several dedicated assistants between 1984 and 2002, Josée Ouellet joined the team and quickly became a true partner on the journey. For two decades, she provided a steady, loyal presence and played a key role in shaping the team’s culture. Josée was part of the first cohort of the Elite Club, a program that annually recognizes some thirty investment assistants for their professionalism, work ethic and dedication. After 34 years at NBF, Josée has been enjoying a richly deserved retirement since 2024. 

2012 — A natural successor 

In 2012, an important new chapter began with the arrival of Mathieu Lapointe Moreau, who quickly stood out for his maturity, client-focused approach and commitment. He naturally became Esther’s successor and partner, sharing her vision and embracing the team’s DNA. His expertise in insurance and discretionary portfolio management helped enhance the team’s service offering. His arrival marked the beginning of a carefully planned transition to the next generation.   

2015 — A successor in her own right  

With NBF since 2013, Mathilde Szaraz Galarneau joined the team in 2015 as an investment assistant. From the outset, she stood out for her rigour, listening skills, and strong interest in financial planning. Ambitious and determined, she became an advisor in 2017 and earned the titles of Financial Security Advisor, Financial Planner, and Portfolio Manager before officially becoming Esther’s and Mathieu’s associate in 2020. Mathilde has also served for several years on the firm’s advisory committee. Her arrival helped fulfil one of Esther’s greatest wishes: to have a true female successor.  

2019 — A pivotal year 

After more than a decade in securities and with strong expertise in legal compliance, Geneviève Morin joined the team in 2019 after returning from a four-year professional stay in California. She took over from Josée, ensuring a smooth and thoughtful transition in the team’s overall administrative management. A recipient of the Elite Club honour in 2022, she is a true beacon in operations across the firm and has served on the investment assistants’ advisory committee for several years. In 2026, Geneviève was appointed the team’s Director of Operations.

That same year, the team was further strengthened by the arrival of Christiane Renaud, who has contributed more than 25 years of wealth management experience along with sound judgement. Recognized for her charisma, empathy, and contagious good humour, she has long been the voice of our team, welcoming new clients, making all necessary account changes, managing transfers for the entire client base and coordinating appointments.  

2020 - An outstanding communicator

When he joined the team, Vincent Grenier Cliche already had about a dozen years of experience and now serves his established client base within a solid team. His remarkable communication skills were apparent from the start. His ease, clarity and human approach quickly made him a pillar. As a portfolio manager with an entrepreneurial spirit, he brings expertise that is recognized by associations and specialized publications in investment taxation and alternative investments, in addition to writing financial letters and numerous client communications. 

2021 — Onboarding during the pandemic

Véronique Tremblay joined the team in the midst of the pandemic, with her first conversations and early months of work taking place mostly on Teams. With several years of industry experience as an investment assistant, she stands out for her attention to detail, the quality of her follow-up, her initiative and her exceptional professionalism. In recognition of her uncommon performance, she was named to the firm’s Elite Club in 2025.

2023 — The new voice of the team

Marie-Audrey Dumont joined the team after working in the administration at one of Quebec’s largest industry associations. Meticulous and perceptive, she is our new voice, coordinating all appointment management for the team. She is a key point of contact and an essential link who maintains direct, regular contact with all our clients.

2024 — Strategic support

A former banker and personal finance advisor, Nicolas Trudel joined the team as an advisor in 2024. His role is to support the entire team, in portfolio management, financial planning and administration alike. He is highly versatile and also brings technical expertise in operational systems and client financing.

2025 — Essential support

With a career spanning more than ten years in the financial industry as a banking advisor and assistant, Alexandra Guillot-Lemelin joined the team in 2025. She plays a crucial role in welcoming and onboarding our new clients. As a strong communicator with event-planning expertise, she also plays a central role in managing and organizing the team’s marketing and events.
