Todd Knutson brings more than two decades of senior investment management experience to helping clients navigate financial markets with confidence. Known for cutting through complexity, Todd translates market insights into practical, intelligent strategies that are aligned with each client’s long-term goals.

He has held senior roles across Canada’s investment industry, including leadership positions at HSBC’s Portfolio Advisory Group and a large advisory practice at ScotiaMcLeod, before joining National Bank Financial. This breadth of experience allows him to combine retirement, tax, estate and investment planning with highly personalized advice.

Todd holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of British Columbia, is a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), and has earned the Portfolio Manager designation after meeting rigorous academic and professional standards. He is also licensed to implement options strategies, providing added flexibility in managing risk and enhancing returns where appropriate.

Clients value Todd’s calm, thoughtful approach and his commitment to helping them make informed financial decisions at every stage of life. Outside the office, Todd enjoys biking, skiing, and spending time outdoors with his wife, son and daughter.

Debbie Hoyland is a Senior Wealth Associate with the Knutson Advisory Group. Her career with National Bank Financial spans more than 20 years, working in both our Kelowna and Vernon branches. Debbie has completed the Canadian Securities Course and Conduct & Practices Course and is fully licenced to trade securities. She oversees all administrative functions for the team, including deposits and cash transfers, estate settlement and client scheduling. As an expert in administrative systems and processes, Debbie has an extensive understanding of the intricacies of portfolio administration, including those related to regulatory issues and complex accounts and takes pride in ensuring each client receives the care and attention they deserve. In Debbie’s spare time she enjoys paddleboarding, cross country skiing and all that the beautiful Okanagan has to offer!

Karly Wager is an Associate with the Knutson Advisory Group at National Bank Financial, where she brings over 15 years of industry experience. She works closely with Debbie Hoyland to support administrative operations, with a particular focus on account opening, documentation management, transfers and tax reporting. Throughout her career, Karly has held a variety of roles, giving her a wellrounded understanding of the business. With her extensive experience and commitment to excellence, Karly is dedicated to delivering a high standard of service and ensuring a positive client experience. In her spare time, Karly enjoys playing slow-pitch, paddleboarding, and supporting her daughter’s journey in competitive softball.
