Chinese New Year Celebration 2026

Each year, Johnny Cheung Wealth Management brings together its team, clients, and their families for a special moment of reflection and celebration: the annual Lunar New Year gathering. Marking the arrival of the Year of the Horse, this year’s event offered an opportunity not only to celebrate tradition, but also to strengthen the sense of community that connects the firm and the families it serves.

Sound of Music 2022

As the Title Sponsor of this year’s Sound of Music, Johnny and his team were able to invite their VIP Clients for a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet the cast and tour the Arts Club Theatre backstage. Clients and their families were able to peek behind the scenes of this special production and learn about everything from designing stage props to musical score selection. Everyone had a fantastic time exploring the stage and taking photos with all the cast members before viewing the stunning show.

Fishing Trip 2022

Johnny’s annual boating trip returns with another exciting day in the sunshine coast. Spot prawns season was in full swing as our clients enjoyed fishing and crabbing on a hot summer day.

Luncheon with the Minister of Immigration 2022

Johnny and his team understands that many of our clients have family from afar and want to understand the direction of Canada’s immigration policy. Due to this, Johnny’s team works tirelessly to provide access and first hand knowledge of these policies through opportunities such as intimate luncheons with Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Hon. Marco Mendicino.

Over the course of the luncheon, Minister Mendicino was able to share Canada’s position on immigration and how families can take advantage of these policies to reunite with their loved ones.

Fishing Trip 2019

As a signature event, Johnny and his team organise an exciting trip to the sunshine coast each year, fishing and crabbing away on a hot summer day. Not only were clients able to enjoy a lovely day on the yacht, but also relax while the freshly caught seafood is prepared on a hot grill. Not a bad way to spend a summer afternoon!

Chinese New Year Celebration 2018

What better way to bring in the 2018 Chinese New Year than with two top chefs and a Food Network personality. Hosted at Vancouver’s award-winning Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar Restaurant at the Sutton Place Hotel, guests enjoyed a multi-course dinner in celebration of The Year of the Dog, prepared by award-winning Executive Chefs Alex Chen and Roger Ma. Chef Chan brought to the event his culinary experience which spans prestigious kitchens, from the Beverly Hills Hotel and Polo Lounge to Four Seasons Hotels in Toronto and Chicago, while Chef Ma’s creativity resonated from his years at New York’s acclaimed restaurant, Daniel and the world-renowned Boulud’s Dinex Group. And to help host this gastronomic extravaganza was none other than Mijune Pak, popular Food Network Personality and Top Chef Canada Judge.

West Bank Exhibitions

Johnny Cheung and The Johnny Cheung Wealth Management Group are known for being passionate supporters of all that makes Vancouver one of the most liveable cities in the world in which to live. As a way of spreading their passion, Johnny and his team joined forces with West Bank, one of Vancouver’s leading development companies, to profile 22 different avant-garde West Bank projects that are either currently in place or coming soon—projects that will further transform Vancouver as a world-class city. This exclusive event for Johnny Cheung Wealth Management clients provided a memorable evening filled with art, music and food prepared by world class chefs at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. There was also a line-up of luxury fashion apparel and a beautiful custom-made Fazioli Piano on display. Johnny Cheung held two additional private viewings of this event for clients during the month of October.

Chinese New Year Celebration 2017

Political BC Liberal Party heavy-weights, including Premier of British Columbia, Christy Clark and Vancouver-Langara MLA, Michael Lee, co-hosted a dinner at Floata restaurant with The Johnny Cheung Wealth Management Group for over 100 guests in celebration of the 2017 Chinese New Year —The Year of the Rooster. It was a night full of entertainment, performances and food, featuring traditional Chinese culture. A dancing Dragon, a full buffet-styled Chinese dinner, and lots of draws for prizes were augmented by live performances featuring the Zither and Erhu accompanied by some wonderful singing.

Leone - Fashion Event

EXCLUSIVE PRIVATE EVENT AT LEONE

A night of high fashion, delectable canapes, wine and music was a joint effort of both Leone and National Bank Financial to present Johnny's clients with a one-of-a-kind experience. In hopes of showing both prospects and existing clients appreciation, Leone collaborated with our team to offer our clients a special night of promotions for brands ranging from Alexander McQueen to Prada. Market Update

Tina Yang presented to a select handful of attendees at Miku on the current market trends and how Johnny Cheung's own investment portfolio performed. Aside from calling our clients for market updates and portfolio reviews, we have this extended service of a face-to-face interaction and round table discussion.

TAX REPORTING AND IMMIGRATION

We invited Larry Yen, Partner at Clark Wilson LLP to speak to the attendees with regards to the elimination of the investor immigration program. He discussed alternative options to immigration and the potential programs that will replace the investor immigration program.

Peter Liu, CA from Kaushal Accountants, spoke about the new foreign income tax reporting form and requirements. The consequences of false reporting were discussed along with the new voluntary disclosure program. Moreover, he also spoke about tax reporting of investments and what counts as realized gains. He also discussed the taxes applicable for capital gains, interests, and dividends.

Clients were also served a high end 3 course meal catered by Sala Thai and were offered a private one-on-on meeting with the professionals.

Sprott Shaw Seminar

International students facing graduation have a variety of options such as immigration, continuing education, and work visas. Our seminar held on May 14 and 15th provided the background information for these students by having speakers from the banking, immigration, investment and real estate sector.

BC LIBERALS WINTER CELEBRATION 2013

Johnny Cheung is the Chair of the Dinner Committee and organized this year's Richmond Centre BC Liberal's Winter celebration and fundraising gala. The event featured special guest Premier Christy Clark, as well as Richmond Centre's Honourable Teresa Wat.

Additionally, 11 more Ministers were present and offered opportunities for one-on-one interaction; including but not limited to Deputy Premier Rich Coleman, Minister Peter Fassbender, and Minister Shirley Bond.

Canucks Owner Suite Exp

Our VIP clients and valuable partners enjoyed a night out on March 9, 2015 at the Roger's Arena for a game. We had a surprise visit from our very own Chris Higgins who spent some one-on-one time with our attendees.
