With a career spanning four decades, Jane has developed an expertise in North American income products. Her knowledge of wealth management, retirement planning, asset allocation, options and strategies is extraordinary. Her experience and her patient, personalized approach ensure you are informed and comfortable with your investments and decisions.

Jane began working alongside Angus in 1979 as a summer student. She was fascinated by the industry so came back full time the next spring. She has been a partner of the Angus Watt Advisory Group since 2006.

Jane’s mother was one of the first female investment advisors in Edmonton, and instilled in her a strong sense of self-reliance and ethics. Jane has taken the lessons of her first mentor to heart, and passes them along.  Over the last decade, Jane has volunteered her time to encourage and mentor young women as they explore careers in the finance industry. She served as the Sponsorship Chair, Edmonton Women in Finance from 2018-2020 and was a member of the Organizing Committee, National Bank Financial Women Investment Advisor's Symposium from 2014 to 2019.

Jane is a Business Anchor for Global News Edmonton and 630 CHED;  a welcomed and trusted addition to our daily business news update to Albertans.

Jane recently celebrated her 36th anniversary with her husband Mark. She is a proud mother of one and proud human mum to a beagle. To relax, Jane enjoys golf, long walks, and reading. She brings passion and energy to everything she does, including her hobbies. Not satisfied with merely enjoying wine, she has achieved Level 2 at Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and recently completed a sensory masterclass.

Over a decade ago, Jim joined the Angus Watt Advisory Group after a successful career playing professional hockey, which included proudly playing for Team Canada – fulfilling a childhood dream. 

Today the experience he gathered has made him one of the most trusted wealth advisors in western Canada.  In 2016, Jim became a partner of the Angus Watt Advisory Group.  In 2017, Jim received the National Bank Financial Regional Rookie of the Year Award. In 2020 he was recognized by the Investment Industry Association of Canada (IIAC) as one of Canada’s Top Advisors Under 40.

As part of our trusted Business Anchor team with Angus Watt and Jane Alm, Jim provides daily business news updates to Albertans over 30 times per week on Global TV and 630 CHED.

Jim’s focus with clients is to understand their goals and lifestyle, providing a customized approach to today’s investment environment. 

Jim proudly serves as the Vice President for the National Board of Kids Up Front and a director within the Edmonton Chapter. Kids Up Front distributes tickets for arts, cultural, and sporting events to deserving kids and their families, creating life-changing, inspirational experiences.

In his off-hours, Jim loves travelling with his wife Caryn and hiking in the mountains with daughters Vivienne and Victoria, and their yellow lab Jessie. Between trips to the mountains Jim will still occasionally hit the ice or the golf greens.

Over the course of 20 years in the financial services industry, it has been Chris’ pleasure and privilege to assist many people along the path of financial security. In 2019, Chris joined the Angus Watt Advisory Group and in 2021, Chris became a partner of the Angus Watt Advisory Group.

Chris works with business owners and families to build, organize, protect, enjoy and ultimately transfer their wealth. His specialty is designing a personalized financial plan that will align your financial strategies with the goals and dreams that matter to you most. Dawn didn’t start out with the dream to do financial planning; she initially specialized as an estate administrator.  After seeing countless individuals endure challenging circumstances and struggle to understand the what, why and how to deal with the finances, she knew there had to be a better way.  After a client casually suggested it – financial planning became synonymous with Dawn. She has a passion to make a difference in our clients’ lives; her diverse and expansive expertise from estate to tax to financial planning makes Dawn the best to address complex situations and family dynamics that all play a role in your financial success. 
Dawn joined the Angus Watt Advisory Group in 2011, bringing over 35 years of financial planning and related experience to our group, and is uniquely skilled in identifying any situation that may threaten your financial wellbeing.  She continues to apply her passion for lifelong learning to ensure her knowledge remains current and relevant to your needs.

Dawn’s work has not only gleaned her respect from her family in the Angus Watt Advisory Group but also nationally and internationally. In 2018, Dawn was awarded the Donald J. Johnston Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest and most prestigious award granted for lifetime advancement of the CFP designation and overall impact for her contribution to the financial planning profession. And in 2017, she was the only recipient to receive the FP Canada Fellow distinction.  The FP Canada Fellow distinction formally recognizes individuals who have helped advance FP Canada's purpose, advance CFP® professional standards, and who have embodied these standards. 

The passion to make a difference stretches into all aspects of Dawns life. She has dedicated countless hours to championing the work of financial planners and related professions.

She served on the Board of FP Canada™ (formerly Financial Planning Standards Council) for eight years, including as Chair from 2015 to 2017. She has served on the Executive of the Estate Planning Council of Edmonton and as the Branch Chair for the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Edmonton. Dawn was a contributor to the Canadian Financial Planning Definitions, Standards and Competencies and was also involved with developing the Financial Planning Body of Knowledge. In recognition of her dedication as a mentor and the original instructor of the CFP courses, in 2019 the Business Career College established an annual scholarship in Dawn’s name.

In addition to her volunteer work in the financial industry, she is also a long-time volunteer with the Edmonton Community Foundation.  The work as a volunteer is above Dawn's financial commitment to the community in setting up the Dawn Hawley Donor Advisor Fund at the ECF.

Angela’s oversight ensures an efficient atmosphere, enabling our advisors and associates to dedicate their focus on your needs. She is responsible for coordinating business and marketing plans, day-to-day administration, human resources, business processes, client development, and compliance. Planning and coordination of all events the Angus Watt Advisory Group is involved in, from executive strategy sessions to The Glass Cliff 2017 women’s leadership event, rounds out her diverse role.

Her business expertise has led Angela to diversify into a very different business venture - art.  As co-owner of Avens Gallery in Canmore, she loves the inspiration and emotion that art evokes in people. While she enjoys the fast pace of her work environment, there’s nothing like the connection to nature that comes with a trip to the mountains with her family.

During the past 14 years that Santana has spent in the financial industry, she has developed her skill and knowledge in the areas of personal banking, business banking, and management. She joined National Bank Financial in December 2018, and recently joined the Angus Watt Advisory Group in the role of Operations Administrator.

Santana has spent time as an associate, completed Branch Administrator/Operations training, and was the Regional Transitions Coordinator for the Alberta and Okanagan region, leading the onboarding of new teams to NBF. Previously, she completed her Investment Funds in Canada course and part of her Financial Planning credentials.

She is extremely knowledgeable about the processes, systems, and documentation at National Bank Financial. Her dedication to accuracy and her ‘get-it-done’ approach complement the Group’s commitment to customer service excellence.

Ksenia joined the Angus Watt Advisory Group in 2017 after 7 years of experience in the fields of real estate and client services. A graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Political Science and Economics, Ksenia is an Associate Investment Advisor and obtained her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation in 2021.

Ksenia’s passion for finance is fueled by challenges of the industry and influences on her upbringing.  With a thirst for knowledge, she is committed to furthering her education and increasing her knowledge base through experience and continual learning.

Ksenia is involved in numerous aspects of client relationship management from our wealth management platform to planning and retirement calculations.  Ksenia takes pride in getting things accomplished, whether it is a quick phone conversation or a large project, with Ksenia you know it is in good hands. 

She is currently a Steering Committee member of the Edmonton Women in Finance, a non-profit Edmonton based organization looking to inspire the next leaders of Edmonton’s future.

Monique joined the Angus Watt Advisory Group in 2018, bringing a decade of experience in the financial services industry.  Dedicated to ongoing improvement, Monique has obtained the Qualified Associate Financial Planner certification.

In 2015, Monique started the Kamloops Shoebox Project, collecting and distributing necessities and gifts to women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. She was awarded a "Paul Harris Fellow" for her time and effort to serve others by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.

Born in the Netherlands, Monique chose to immigrate to Canada in 2010 to enjoy the space, tranquility and nature. During her weekends she loves to explore Edmonton's bicycle trails and enjoys relaxing in her garden with a good book in hand.

Evan joined the Angus Watt Advisory Group in 2021, following up on 2 summer internships with the Group in 2018 and 2019.  A graduate of the University of Alberta with a focus on Finance and Marketing, his passion for finance is driven by its ability to create value and drive change.  Evan is focused on becoming an Investment Advisor and expanding his knowledge base to better serve our clients wide ranging needs, allowing you to feel confident your needs are addressed in a timely and focused manner. 

Throughout his undergrad Evan championed several student experiences, most notably the Rocky Mountain Business Seminar. Volunteering first as the Vice-President, External and moving to Chair in the following year, Evan was accountable for the production and execution of the 5-day event. The experience of managing a 130-person conference has primed Evan to hit the ground running with the Angus Watt Advisory Group.

In his spare time, he loves getting outdoors, whether it be a bike in the river valley or, if time allows, escaping to the mountains to do some hiking or skiing.

After studying Marketing and Finance at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Geoff turned his focus to the Insurance industry where he gained experience and a devotion to the industry’s challenging nature. Geoff has been with NBF Financial Services since 1997, and in 2006, he became a Partner of the Angus Watt Advisory Group.

He has extensive knowledge of risk management, corporate/personal planning, employee benefits and compensation programs. Kristin has been with National Bank Financial since 2008 and joined the Angus Watt Advisory Group in September 2009. In 2010, ready for a new direction and challenge, she moved to the Benefits and Planning Division and began assisting with individual coverage, group benefits coverage, client relations and administrative matters. Kristin has been licensed in Life and Accident and Sickness since 2013 and has completed the GBA1 course.

Ally Kulak joined the Angus Watt Advisory Group in 2019 as part of NBF Financial Services, assisting the group benefits team. 

Utilizing her human resources knowledge and experience she worked alongside the Group Benefits and Planning Director and Advisor in completing benefit renewal analysis, implementing new programs, and providing information and service support to clients.  

While supporting the Benefits and Planning Director, Ally is focused on building a sustainable, enhanced, client-centred strategy using industry best practices to continue the growth of the individual insurance business.  

Ally brings a holistic, enthusiastic energy to the team and is committed to furthering her education and increasing her knowledge. 

In her personal time, Ally enjoys spending time with her St. Berdoodle, Sully, as well as a good Netflix binge on Friday nights. As an avid athlete, Ally participates in many activities including soccer, cycling and hot yoga.
