Why am I in this business? Since I was 8 years old, I was interested in making money. I asked questions about financial markets when I was 11 and never found anyone who could properly explain how markets worked. Years later, after many entrepreneurial pursuits, I found a job with a major stock brokerage firm. It certainly was not easy to build my business, but I soon realized that I was able to provide help to clients, offering reasonable advice, answering their questions and discussing their concerns: And for this I would be paid, and over time I had the option to continue to improve my business which always improved my pay. 35 years later, I am still enjoying working, still helping clients and now have an opportunity to help my young team learn and enjoy this profession, for the rest of their lives, I hope to if they choose.
I have been happily married to my wife Verna for 39 years. We have three adult children living their independent lives, having all graduated from the University of Calgary.
My wife and I enjoy travelling and spending time with our children and friends. We enjoy learning other languages and have spent time studying and speaking German, French and Spanish.
I am currently a Pipe Corporal with the Calgary Police Service Pipe Band, and an avid tennis and golf player, and I enjoy reading.
My hobbies are playing bagpipes with the Calgary Police Service Pipe Band, tennis and golf, and "not enough" reading.
