Kathy joined her father's practice at a bank-owned full-service investment firm in 1991 as a full-time Administrative Assistant after working part-time for several years through high school and university.  Her goal was to learn as much as possible from her father and others who had real hands-on experience investing in the markets while taking investment and financial planning courses in her spare time.

She quickly transitioned to become an Investment Advisor in 1996 believing her keen interest in the industry and her desire to help others - especially seniors and young families - would be an asset to the team.  Upon her father's retirement in May 2016, Kathy became the lead Wealth Advisor and 'financial quarterback' for Team Wood managing in excess of $195 million of assets under management (as of August 2017).

In September 2017, Kathy left the aforementioned bank-owned full-service investment firm with her Team intact and began the next phase of her career and practice as a Wealth Advisor with National Bank Financial Wealth Management.

In order to better service her clients, Kathy holds her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional and Certified Professional Consultant on Aging (CPCA) designations.  Since 1999, Kathy has been a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) - a designation considered to be the highest achievement in the financial services industry, awarded only to those with superior experience, advanced education and the endorsement of their superiors and peers.

Kathy and her husband, Mark, live in Hamilton with their three cats.  They enjoy spending quality time with good friends, good food and good wine.
