According to this report by NB Capital Markets, Canada's economy has softened and briefly met the technical definition of a recession, but underlying data suggests conditions are stabilizing rather than deteriorating. Growth is expected to remain modest with inflation under control and early signs point to a potential rebound.
Why Smaller Weddings are Making a Comeback
It is not hard to answer why. Donna and I had a wedding with a guest list of 120 people over 30 years ago. By both Italian and Chinese standards, that was considered a small wedding, but weddings were not as expensive. These days, with increased costs of venues, food, alcohol and photographer, and the pressure of having a unique or destination wedding, couples are scaling back to much smaller weddings.

Farmer Markets
My favourite farmer's market is at Evergreen Brick Works because there is good produce, lots of food stands and you can go for a hike through the park after. Driving by Greenwood Park, I forgot that there is also the Leslieville Farmers Market on Sundays and there is even one in front of Sick Kids Hospital every Tuesday. Toronto Outdoor Picture Show
From June 26th to August 23rd, the Toronto Outdoor Picture Show has free open-air cinema programming across Toronto parks. However, this doesn't even include the Harbourfront Centre Free Flicks that runs all summer or the Downtown Movies in the Park run by TIFF. And many neighbourhoods hold there own free outdoor movie screenings.
