We formalized our team in 2025 but had already been working side-by-side for 20+ years. Over time, we’ve held the same philosophy, the same values, and the same instinctive belief that straightforward is best for building wealth.
Senior Wealth Advisor & Portfolio Manager
“The funny thing about the investment business is that you can learn the basics fairly quickly. The next 20 or 30 years just helps to confirm why the basics still make sense.”
I began working 25 years ago at one of the legacy firms National Bank acquired. While my title has changed a little during that time, the role has essentially been the same. I assist my colleagues in finding solutions that meet our clients’ needs, executing those solutions, and ensuring that we all stick to the customized plan as closely as circumstances allow.
Working with partners inside the firm, I’m responsible for relationship management as well as developing and implementing investment strategies through personalized service in financial planning, tax, estate planning and retirement funding. Together, we meet the investment and financial planning needs of our clients – which can include multiple generations – at every age and stage.
When I first looked at working in wealth management, I had this sense that my main job would be to out-think the markets to get results. As it turned out, it has mostly been about working with people, understanding goals, and helping to develop the confidence to stick to a plan. And most of the joy stems from the relationships rather than the investment decisions.
After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University, I began my career with Royal Trust. Building on my degree in Economics, I pursued professional accreditation in investment management, attaining the Certified Investment Manager designation and becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charterholder.
Beyond the Office
I was a late starter to having kids, meaning I have grade-school aged children in my 50s. They keep me active, for sure. I also try to keep fit by skiing in the winter and running, biking and swimming in the summer; none very quickly.

“I love getting to know my clients and feel energized when I see that the solutions we create for them help improve their situation.”
Through comprehensive wealth management solutions, I help my clients preserve the financial security they’ve worked hard to achieve. I’m energized by getting to know people on a deeper level, and then creating solutions that move them towards their ideal financial state when implemented. My experience includes tax, retirement, wills and estate planning, and discretionary investment management for Canadian and U.S. citizens.
With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, I discovered my passion for helping people with their financial affairs while working in private banking at CIBC. I then moved onto providing investment and financial planning counsel to members of the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) prior to joining National Bank Financial Wealth Management.
I am a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®), Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) and hold the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation.
Beyond the Office
I am an avid golfer and skier, and past President of the Brimacombe Ski Racing Association. In 2002, I won the Queen's Jubilee Medal for volunteer work with Scouts Canada. My wife and I live in Ajax, Ontario, and have two adult children.

“I seek balance in all aspects of life, because this allows me to pursue my goals while enjoying life’s simple pleasures and moments.”
I take pride in helping my clients articulate and achieve their financial goals through personalized financial plans. With a keen eye for detail, I ensure that all the finer points are captured in those customized plans. This approach allows me to deliver proactive wealth management services that anticipate and address the diverse needs of my clients, with advice that includes retirement strategies, tax planning, estate planning and investments.
I started my career at one of the legacy firms National Bank acquired, and worked my way to successively senior roles. A graduate of both Ryerson University (now called Toronto Metropolitan University) and Sheridan College, I’m also a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charter holder and a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®).
Beyond the Office
Whether it’s exploring the outdoors, cooking together or simply enjoying each other’s company, I can usually be found spending quality time with my wife and our two children.

“Today, I will be better.”
With a focus on building long-term, trust-based relationships, I work with several multi-generational clients in all facets of financial planning. This includes strategies designed to minimize the tax implications of wealth transfers to younger generations. Success in my approach requires developing a deep understanding of my clients’ individual needs and challenges across various life stages, and the experience I have gained over almost 25 years in wealth management.
After starting my career in retail banking, I moved into financial planning in 2000 and have developed long-term relationships with clients across the GTA and beyond. I earned my Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) and Chartered Investment Manager® (CIM®) designations, having previously received my BA in Economics from The University of Guelph while playing varsity hockey.
Beyond the Office
I live in Scotland, Ontario with my wife, our two dogs and the constant back and forth that comes with having four adult children. As a young man some years ago, I played Junior A hockey in Peterborough. These days, despite being a bit slower on the ice, I stay sharp as a coach and scout.
I have a passion for helping people and giving back, and my family and I have been actively associated with a non-for-profit charity in Hamilton for many years. This organization helps young people explore and instill important values, build stronger relationships, and compassionately participate in their local communities and abroad.
