I was born and raised in Winnipeg, growing up in the area of St. Vital with two very supportive parents and two older sisters. Graduating high school from College Jeanne Sauve in 1998, I knew I had the entrepreneurial spirit from a very young age finding a balance between school, work, and athletics.
My interest in Investments came from my late father who was an avid investor himself and a brilliant mathematician, working as the Chief Statistician for the Health Sciences Centre (HSC). It was him who encouraged me to purchase my first ever mutual fund at the age of 12 with my first paycheck as a newspaper delivery boy.
This spirit led me to graduate from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Economics and Business. I have also obtained my Professional Financial Planning (PFP) and my Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI).
I started my career in Wealth Management in 2003 building success for various Mutual Fund Trust companies, Banks, and Private Wealth Management firms. Prior to that I spent 5 years working in Taxation for CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) gaining extensive knowledge of the Canadian Taxation system.
I have spent my entire professional career ensuring individuals are in a better financial position from when we first meet. Although I have worked with folks from all walks of life, I have specialized in working with professionals, business owners, and retirees. My main priority is developing long term relationships with my clients by spending time listening to them and getting to know what is truly important in their lives. This is the foundations on how I establish trust and deliver a world class client experience providing a unique financial plan and customized financial solutions tailored to every client's individual circumstance.
I have volunteered for numerous organizations and causes in Winnipeg. I have also spent a full six year term on the board for the University of Manitoba Alumni Association and acted in an executive capacity for two of those years as Treasurer.
When I am away from the office, I enjoy playing almost any sport: volleyball and golf. I am a huge Winnipeg Jets fan and it is known to keep the talking to a minimum when the game is on. Last and most importantly, I enjoy spending as much time as I can with my family: my wife Michelle and two young sons Kailas & Rydan.
