Brett started his wealth management career at BMO Nesbitt Burns as a Marketing Assistant in 2002. In 2004, Brett completed the course requirements to become an Investment Assistant. The following year, he moved on to National Bank Financial Wealth Management (NBF). It was at NBF where Brett furthered his education and completed the requirements to become an Associate Investment Advisor in 2007. Before long, Brett took on a management role and partnered with another Investment Advisor to start managing his own client base in 2008.
In 2015, Brett obtained his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation and consequently qualified to become a Portfolio Manager. Through this process, Brett has enabled his clients to become a part of a select group to have access to the NBF discretionary program. With this, Johnson Wealth Management Group can offer exclusive investment portfolio models with proven track records.
Brett now has over 13 years of experience within the wealth management industry, and this has allowed him to obtain a depth of knowledge and business ethics that his clients have come to trust and appreciate.
Before his career began in the wealth management industry, Brett obtained his Bachelor of Management degree at the University of Lethbridge. It was during his post secondary education that he simultaneously pursued his passion for soccer through U of L Athletics.
Brett married his high school sweetheart, Michelle, in 2005. In 2008, the family started to grow as they welcomed the arrival of their son, Brody. In 2011, they were blessed once again with the arrival of their daughter, Natalie.
Brett is proud to be a continuing supporter of various associations within Southern Alberta. His passion for sports keeps him very involved with U of L Athletics Alumni and has recently Co-chaired the Southern Alberta United Way campaign. Brody and Natalie now also keep Brett and Michelle busy with their own sports as they have found their own passions in soccer, hockey and dance.
When time permits, Brett and Michelle enjoy time on the golf course, running and spending time at the lake.
